The inaugural Wheelchair Rugby League World Cup was held in Sydney in 2008. The World Cup has a proud place in the history of Rugby League. Instituted after World War II, the first competition was held in France with Great Britain emerging victorious. Since then there have been 12 World Cups with Australia dominating the record books with nine wins however New Zealand are the current holders after winning for the first time in 2008. The Wheelchair-based version of rugby league expects to build its own place in history. The Wheelchair Rugby League World Cup 2013 promises to the biggest and best tournament in the history of the game and this website intends to give you a flavour of what the tournament will offer.
